Organised by Ymlaen Llanelli, and supported by Llanelli Town Council and Food and Drink Wales, town was full to the brim as people browsed artisan produce stalls on Stepney Street and treated themselves to street food on Vaughan Street.
Chair of Ymlaen Llanelli, Lesley Richards, was pleased with the turnout: “Llanelli Food and Drink Festival is always one of our most anticipated events of the year – both from our point of view and the public’s – and we’re thrilled that so many people came out in support of it again this year. We have an amazing community here in Llanelli town centre, and we showcased this to the masses on Saturday. Whether you’re a local or one of our vistiors from further far afield, we’d like to say a huge thank you for coming along. We hope you had as great a day as we did, and we hope to see you in Llanelli town centre again soon!”
Festival-goers were treated with local live music on stage in Stepney Square throughout the day, while the kids got busy with free food-themed crafts from Annibendod and A Taste of Times Past.
BID Manager, Mandy Jenkins said: “We’re incredibly happy with how successful the festival was. It’s really great to see town so full of people, and to have those people popping in to support town centre businesses during their visit.”
Some of our festival traders are set to return to town at Llanelli Monthly Food Market on Saturday 19th November. Our next event, Llanelli (Non-Reindeer) Reindeer parade, will be our last event of the year, taking place on Saturday 3rd December. Keep your eyes peeled for more info!
