We’re thrilled to announce that Llanelli town centre businesses have voted to continue Ymlaen Llanelli’s work until 2026! An astounding 95% of businesses that voted were in favour of a second five-year term, so we wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone that supported us – we can’t wait to get to work on all our plans, including getting back to our events ASAP!
How did the reballot work?
Businesses within the BID area with a rateable value of £5000 and over received a ballot paper in the post asking whether they would like the BID to continue. The ballot opened for voting on 4th February and closed at 5pm on 4th March.
For a BID to be re-established, the ballot must pass on two counts: a simple majority of those voting must be in favour and their votes must represent more than 50% of the total rateable value of the properties that voted. The BID was established in November 2015 following a successful ballot that adhered to the same rules.
The full results of the reballot can be downloaded below:
You can read about everything we plan to do over the next five years in our renewal ballot proposal by clicking on the download below; this proposal details everything we've achieved since 2015, and we've got plenty more in store until 2026!
Once again, a huge thank you to everyone that voted to support us, we're honoured that we get to continue our work to support Llanelli town centre businesses in return. Thank you!
