Llanelli Monthly Food Market will take place this Saturday, 19th June, organised in collaboration between Carmarthenshire Markets and Ymlaen Llanelli, the town centre’s Business Improvement District (BID). The market will be hosted alongside the regular Saturday market on Stepney Street and Vaughan Street, with more traders set to join as it continues every third Saturday of the month.
Ymlaen Llanelli Chair, Lesley Richards, is pleased to be working in collaboration with the market: “Monthly markets are a staple in many towns across the country, so this market will be a great step forward for our town centre. People love seeing what’s on offer from traders that attend the Ymlaen Llanelli events – the Llanelli Food and Drink Festival is always our most popular event with record turnouts each year (sorely missed in 2020!), so what better way to get things moving again than with a market? We can’t wait to welcome new traders and bring something special to Llanelli as the market grows.”
You can find all the details on how to apply for a pitch at Llanelli Monthly Food Market here. Traders can attend on a monthly basis, or simply book a pitch for the months that they are available.
We're also now at the halfway point of the trial month for our Love Llanelli Loyalty Card Scheme: pick up a card from any participating business and collect stickers when you spend over £10, and once you've collected five stickers, head to the library to exchange your card for a £20 town centre gift voucher! The first of these gift vouchers have started to be redeemed this week, and we expect more to come! You can read all about the scheme here.
These initiatives mark the start of Llanelli town centre’s recovery from Covid-19, with events and more on the horizon as summer begins and restrictions continue to lift.
